Fingerprint Portraitures were inspired by knitting finger puppets of the 2008 U.S. presidental candidates, Obama and McCain, in October 2008. To the right are the knitted presidental finger puppets - cute aren't they? During the knitting process, the idea of non-representational portraits evolved and the title 'fingerprint portraits.' The 'fingerprinting' include words, phrases, and other interesting facts developing into a story of a person's life. Fingerprint Portraitures can also be the history of a profession, such as teaching, nursing, politics, architecture, etc.
Since then, Fingerprint Portraitures have taken a life of their own with commissions, giclées (prints) and notecards.
Fingerprint Portraitures are available as:
- original paintings
- giclee (print)
- notecards
- commissions
